Here we are counting down the days to the Big Day and I have yet to hear “Silver Bells” this year. It can’t be Christmas for a city boy like me until I can hear the one song that celebrates the holiday of MY youth, not that of Currier & Ives. (And who is this “dashing Trudy Snow” they keep singing about? Huh? Huh? Tell me that, why dontcha.)
Our church is blessed with a fantastic choir (we have a good part of the local university’s music department – some of whom aren’t even Christian). So much so that I call Sunday Services – “Eucharist, the Musical.” I can’t wait for the Christmas service.
