Man: Can I retoin dis wid no receipt? Clerk: Nope, sorry. Man: You cheap mug! I'll get youse! Clerk: AAAGH!! Boss: Gruntles! You broke the scanner! You're fired! Clerk: Ha ha ha! I'll make them pay for this! And no coupons or discounts either! Andre: That's the most compelling comic book super-villain origin story I've ever read. Petey: It was too action-packed. One day, mild-mannered office supply salesman Norm Gruntles is accosted by an irate customer. The customer, enraged, shoves Norm's head into the scanner! Driven criminally insane by the laser scanner and the general unfairness of it all, Gruntles becomes FEARMONGer, the menace merchant!

♪♫ And he’s drawin’, what’s that? Colossal noises? Banging on the sketch pad like a chim-pan-zee Oh, that ain’t working, that’s the way you do it Get your money for nothing get your chicks for free ♪♫
Though Petey will have to learn that the customer is generally right when it comes to commission work.

The most compelling comic book super-villain origin story I’ve ever read is Dr. Doom’s (the long version, going back to his childhood). It works because they gave him a hero’s origin story, but it somehow went terribly, terribly wrong…
