Is that Gunsmoke (movie) with Audie Murphy or
Gunsmoke (TV) with James Arness?
How about The Cisco Kid or Zorro. Davy Crockett? Daniel Boone?
Someone needs a mani-pedi, urgently.
Reggie expects to be a bit rowdy as the night goes on.
What about “Bonanza” and “The Rifleman”?
And what about Maverick, Have Gun Will Travel, Tombstone Territory and Death Valley Days?
Reggie loves it when they say Git along, little dogies.
Nobody mentioned my Dad’s other favorite… (besides Rawhide) he loved Wagon Train.
Then there was Lawman,….
and of course, we girls were goo-goo over newcomer (easy lopin’, cattle ropin’ ) Sugarfoot…
ridin’ along with a heart full of song…. and a rifle and a volume of the law…
Any mistakes in that lyric are due to the fact that, much as I hate to admit it….
I’m typing it from memory…..
sigh…..
Another popular one in my house, just before westerns fell out of favor, was Alias Smith and Jones.
I’m more into Alfred Hitchcock Presents and The Twilight Zone.
One of my favorite record albums as a little boy was one of themes from western TV shows, performed by the Lawrence Welk Orchestra. Many of the shows others cite above were included on the album. Aah. The world is a simple place when you’re five.
Happy Boxing Day Mudd.
What? We all forgot about the Lone Ranger.
Westerns…. so far removed from reality.
Roy Rogers was way too vanilla.
