    There is a balm you can rub into the pads that protects them from the ice and road salt too. If our pampered pooch stayed out long enough we could tell you whether or not it worked, but it’s outside, do the necessary and back in! He rarely gets a foot away from the house.

    My lab got a nasty cut while out with me cross country skiing. It took 3 gauze pads to stop the bleeding, and I taped those pads on well. The dog took two steps, bent over, pulled off the whole bandage, and spit it out. His foot bled for 4 miles back to the car, but he had a glorious day.
