    What I don’t understand is how family members allow political views to be so divisive. Your son or daughter, spouse or sibling, will always be as such, politics are ever changing, and no matter what we think about whom, it will have little if any affect on the political spectrum as a whole.

    I still think George Carlin had the best definition of politics: Poli meaning many and tics meaning blood sucking parasites.

    A person’s politics is loosely based 10% on ideological values and 90% on what’s in it for him. A person will vote for a political figure even if he does not believe in the politician’s platform as long as the politician appears to deliver things favorable to him

    I always told my kids: It’s fine with me if you’re gay, you can bring home someone of any race or religion and I will welcome them sincerely. But, bring home a Republican and you’re out of the will.
