I’d say Jake’s work is never done as long as he’s still married to her.

Due to the low rent phone service she has, what Jake heard was that he needed to go out and pick up some chick.

An ant can pick up many times their weight, but I don’t know about a chicken. Sandfan must be right–she must have meant a chick. That’s the kind of wife I need. My wife’s name in Cherokee is Three Horses. In English It means Nag! Nag! Nag!
