Gary appears to have expropriated more shoelaces than merely his own. Mary is somewhere wondering what the devil happened to hers, and looking suspiciously at the cat.

Gary should look into paracord. Not only can he replace his shoelaces but he can substantially increase the variety of personal adornment.
