    Is it just me or are they slowly “getting along better”? Isn’t there some law against character development in a comic strip? ;)

    I thought at first glance that Doug was playing around with his dad’s golf clubs, but the third panel proved that wrong. Hey, it’s still early on the west coast. LOL

    Xane_T, it probably won’t last. Sophie’s attitude to Doug has always alternated between camaraderie and enmity (just like any other siblings).

    Character development usually only works in comic strips where the characters actually age. Static-age ‘toons are free to become broader or deeper over time, but it’s difficult to pull off directional changes (i.e. what we usually mean by “growth”).
