So Nancy is really 82 years old, and Fritzi is well over 100

I hope the strip will continue. But you are right. Comic strip characters do not age like folks in the real world. How long has Dennis the Menace been 5 and a half years old? Of course in Gasoline Alley, the characters did age.
Was it ever explained in the strip just who was it that died, for Nancy to have to come live with Fritzi?
Looks like this was originally drawn in 2009?
