I loved the Snow Goon series. Just how far can Calvin stray from reality? Admitedly Space man Spiff is pretty far but the snow goons were very concrete, and his parents didn’t really understand at all, as usual. Of course everything is concrete to Calvin and Hobbes. I guess that the best feature of a friend is how they support your take on reality. Maybe I’m just being cynical. I think winter is hard on people. Winter is hard to surivve without snow goons. I sometimes think Calvin lived in Michigan. He experiences a lot of winter with wonderful summers in a lot of forest. Mr. Waterson lives much farther south of course, and I speak his name with some reverence.
Lakesnake, it’s the transmogrifier, and it’s a word Clavin made up. He could use it to turn them into something else, which seems like a good strategy. What was the point of your comment btw?
It looks like there will soon be a goon squad. What good is a fort when you have not yet selected a weapon to use against them. I suggest building a fire and roasting marshmallows. The snow goons will dare not approach and you can maybe even make smores.

You’ve got the right idea- though it’s never explicitly stated, there’s lots of evidence that Calvin lives in Ohio (House by the giant letter E in the word “States” according to Hobbes, picture of Chagrin Falls town triangle on back of “The Essential Calvin and Hobbes,” the fact that Bill Watterson grew up there, etc.) I believe Mr Watterson does, in fact, live much farther south these days, though he is hard to track.
There’s my 2 cents. Also, this is one of my favorite story lines.
Why don’t we do what the Brenda Starr fans are doing? Go back to the beginning of the GoComcs archive and read one strip a day and comment on it? The story there is 8 years old and we’ve pretty much forgotten it anyhow. Besides, it would be great to see the old Annie gang reassemble.

I think he should call on Lio for some inter-creation counseling. Lio seems to have such a good rapport with snow monsters.

OMG! They better build a bigger fort pronto!

lakesnake, I believe Lewreader has posted similar comments on different days. Obviously what he was trying to refer to was the trasmogrifyer.
