This only works if you have viable options, of course.

I love the wood-cut waves in the final frame.

Unfortunately, this is the common misattribution – Mark Twain/Samuel Clemens didn’t say/write it…

Find something you like to do and do it. I loved things mechanical so I became a mechanic, got bored with that after 30 years and started a small construction company. I enjoyed working most days and lived within my means. It’s not rocket science.

How many of us out there wish we could do that to our boss or even bossy coworkers?

That guy must have a money tree, or a magic bitcoin, or some bloody thing. Maybe it’s dream money since it lets him live his dreams, eh?

“Twenty years from now you will be more disappointed by the things that you didn’t do than by the ones you did do. So throw off the bowlines. Sail away from the safe harbor. Catch the trade winds in your sails. Explore. Dream. Discover.”

Mark Twain did NOT say that.

The quote belongs to H. Jackson Brown’s mother. See page 13 in Brown’s 1991 book: P.S. I Love You: When Mom Wrote, She Always Saved the Best for Last.

While there is no good reason to tolerate an abusive boss, unless you are financially independent, you will need a job. Better to find a job you like, that way you can afford the dream vacation (well, if you’re paid enough)

For what it’s worth, we’re full time cruisers aboard a sailboat. Boat name: Flying Pig (as in, “When Pigs Fly!!”) is sort of indicative; there’s another quote he illustrated some years ago now, with the ending being “throw yourself into the abyss and find yourself landing on a feather bed” or words to that effect.

We’ve basically been doing that for 11 years now…

If you want to read any of it, I write a log: http://groups.yahoo.com/group/TheFlyingPigLog
