Most T.V.s have controls to make them usable without the remote. It makes sense considering remotes can be lost, be damaged, or become worn out.
However, some T.V.s have parental controls that limit use of the non-remote controls. The parent can keep the remote in a locked drawer when not in use.

sounds like my house have 4 in living room 3 in bedroom. Hubby cant find any of them at times… Same goes for his readers..
