    yeah, as a plugger with hearing problems, I do schmuze with friends about the pros and cons of hearing aids and prices, but it is NO JOKE!

    One of my friends has an implant, says it’s worse than not hearing anything. Nine setting, all bad.

    At 76, my hearing is just fine. There are times when I wish it weren’t so good. I overhear some things other people say out in public that they would not want most people to hear.

    I’m practically-deaf in my right-ear, and about 30% in my left(Cigarette filters weren’t all that protective. Earplugs COULD, ironically, cost you your life—-esp. puttin’ them in, when there were more-pressing “things” that needed loaded.) But I gotta admit: Lip-reading isn’t all that hard to adapt to. And, it’s quite-useful in hospitals, especially when your doctors & nurses DON’T-know you possess such an ability…!☺
