So when Pert died, what did Wilmer Bobble get left in his will? Wouldn’t he have asked to get the deed at probate, if he expected to inherit it? And who has Corky been paying rent to, all these years?
I assume Senator Bobble has been paying the property taxes on this facility ever since Pert died. Why would (or could) he do that, unless he inherited the deed to the diner in Pert’s will? Wouldn’t the tax bill be sent to to person who is on record at City Hall as being the owner? It sounds as if Corky’s deed was never registered.

It might be true, but still mean to say, especially under the circumstances.

Actually, by the end of the story, Scrooge was acting benevolently.

If this storyline is a rerun, when did it originally appear?

If Skeezix is 97, seems to me that Corky would be in his 90’s as well…
