Years and years ago my wife and I were woken by the sound of breaking glass; it was a fire in the apartment just above us. Luckily another neighbor opposite had seen it and called had called the fire department. (The folks upstairs were away but someone had switched on an electric blanket – or there was a fault.)

Recently saw a big 2 story house totally in flames and 3 fire trucks that couldn’t get through the fancy arched driveway gate.
