It’s not just kids that are “plugged in” to technology. I was at a funeral two days ago and sat behind a 40+ woman who spent the whole service texting and fiddling with her phone. I wanted to slap her up ‘long side the head and scream at her to PUT THAT THING AWAY! ( I guess I’ve lived too long……)
right before I retired, I just about lost it at a meeting where the speaker was basically talking directly to me, since 95% of the people in the room were glued to their blackberry and not paying any attention…
If you’re ever attacked, your iPod makes a good blunt instrument, and the headphones make good garrote wire.
You should never go out alone without learning something about ad hoc weaponry.

or have you ever wondered how many pieces it would be multiplied into if it were thrown up against a brick wall?
it would be a grand physics experiment using various degrees of force in the throw and angle of contact with the brick wall

255 feet, with the wind at my back. If you use the headphones and spin it over your head before releasing, you can toss it over 300 feet !!!
