When I was young we had the Dime store or in some places the five and dime. In the 60’s the gave way to the K-Marts, Woolco and eventually Wal-Mart as well as many other big box stores. The dollar stores are the new dime store except ar 10 times the price. Dollar stores are everywhere now, thank goodness.
As members of a church with an aging congregation, and directors of a local charity, my wife & I can’t pass the dollar store without picking up a sympathy card or a thank you card.

They must be frequent shoppers.

Frequenting the same store, means less time hunting for things, and winding up buying ’don’t really need, but gee gosh that is neat’ things.

Dollar Tree, Dollar General and Family Dollar. I know them all.

And you don’t have to dress special, like at Walmart

There are some things at those stores that are cheaper (and better quality) elsewhere.

Ugh. Who would want a book sold at a dollar store.

What am I missing – I never go in the Dollar stores. I worked in a ‘dime store’ for 3 years.

Interesting to note that bleach cleansers costs a few cents less at Target than at the dollar store.
