    Yes, but you get seven hours of operation out of those batteries. And if you buy rechargeables, you only get five hours, but good ol’ Dad is paying the electric bill to recharge them.

    I now use Eneloop type rechargeable batteries. They hold a charge for a long time, so you can charge a bunch and use them when you need them. In 6 years, I have only had to throw 1 or 2 away for not charging.
