Why not just call it a tofu turkey.

    Happy Thanksgiving everyone.

Is he implying that living in California turns you into a vegetable? I knew the smog was bad but this would be ridiculous.

Isn’t it like a relative to visit for the holidays and then stay?

The turkey was the vegetarian… not a vegetable.

    Yukoner,

As Will Rogers said, “When the Okies moved to California, they improved the I.Q. of both places”!

Something must die for you to live. Think of all those baby soy beans that will never see the sun!

California is like a bowl of granola, when you remove the fruits and the nuts… what you have left is the flakes.

The last time I was in Berkeley (for work, which was why they had to import somebody from the outside world) I saw a sign advertising “vegetarian burgers.”

My co-workers were much amused by that, since it was very shortly after the first “Addams Family” movie, in which Christina Ricci asked whether the girl scout cookies were made from real girl scouts.

twypsi: My guess is, for the climate (in places) and the scenery (in places). And you never get bored: the climate is changing, and every time they have an earthquake the scenery changes too. :)

The wonderful thing about living is California (at least the parts that most people think of when they think “California”) is that one is basically free to be as weird as it is one’s nature to be. We aren’t ALL New Age vegetarians, some of us are black-wearing, chain-smoking artist types, some of us are yuppie lawyers, some of us are computer geeks, some of us are punk rockers, and yes, some of us are blue-collar Target shoppers. For the most part, we all get along pretty well. Ain’t that America?

(And we ALL have screenplays we’d like your opinion on…)

Twypsi: I live here because it does not snow and we have our own conservatives here who will make things right (damn these puns). Presently we have moonbeam and all the wierd-os in sacramento, which, hopefully, in time will change.

    Vegitarians are good food.

I’ve been through fire, flood & blizzard. Hurricane, typhoon & monsoon look about the same from the inside. I’ll stick with my earthquakes. Then look at your heating bill & my property taxes. Cali’s a’ight.
