Answer: Michael will have the girls all to himself. Wait! Isn’t that a good thing?
2. What if I look like a fool?
Answer: That’s not “if”. That’s “when.”
3, What if my sister comes downstairs again with my undershorts on a stick?
Answer: Again? I don’t think I remember she did that before. Nevertheless, if she does, Michael should rejoice because that event will probably make his party 100% better.
Wow! A birthday party is supposed to be fun; not turning you into a bundle of nerves! It sounds like Michael really doesn’t want this party, in which case he should do something he wants to do.
Life itself, as the Spaniards say. I’d forgotten those awful nerves of the first several parties. Although as I remember those early boy-girl parties, for the most part they were really two parallel parties going on at opposite ends of the room!
Regardless of one’s age at the time, a first event — major or minor —is stepping into uncharted waters and likely to produce anxiety. Can you remember the first time you drove a car? Went to a new school? Went on your first date? Tried a new recipe? Got hired for your first job? I’d wager these happened well beyond 13 years old.

I suffer from this my whole life, never got over that since my teen years. It is not necessarily a teenage thing.

Let’s answer Michael’s questions:
1. What if none of the guys show up?
Answer: Michael will have the girls all to himself. Wait! Isn’t that a good thing?
2. What if I look like a fool?
Answer: That’s not “if”. That’s “when.”
3, What if my sister comes downstairs again with my undershorts on a stick?
Answer: Again? I don’t think I remember she did that before. Nevertheless, if she does, Michael should rejoice because that event will probably make his party 100% better.

the party will have all the girls together on one side of the room and the boys on the other like my first boy/girl party.
