I once asked a wounded Spanish soldier I met on the train if Spain had anything equivalent to the US Purple Heart. He said, “No, we just have the inner satisfaction of having done our duty.” Which from his tone wasn’t all that satisfactory with a hipjoint full of hardware.

When have done nothing but lose and fail no matter how hard you try, you reach a point where instead of feeling frustrated, you simply don’t care.

Charlie Brown has grit, and Snoopy as a short stop. Lucy only wants fame.

What job well done?, no one in your team does a good job… except for Schroeder, because he’s the catcher.

Interesting Lucy says that, because only a couple of years before Snoopy won the award for “Rookie of the Year.” Coincidentally, that was also the last time Shermy was seen in the strip.

Well, the satisfaction of a job done. Or the satisfaction of a job attempted.
