Wow. Our school has a newspaper, but it is full of games and news articles. The only review inside of it is about the school cafeteria (inspired by Big Nate!)
Gina’s surprisingly clueless and innocent. There can be major issues in the boys bathroom. For starters, hand soap. All out? Issue. Then there’s toilet paper…
Yes!! I’m finally back from vacation! Time for another analysis. In panel one, we get some splendiferous paraphernalia to scrutinize, but I’ll get to that later. For now I’ll just focus on the main parts. In panel one, Nate is giving Gina his review for the next day’s paper. This confirms that Gina is in on this and apart of the team. In panel 2, Nate has a confident look as he is handing Gina the paper. This is symbolized by his bored eyes and one hand on his hip. He proves to not understand what a rave is. In panel 3, Nate has a dissatisfied look, and informs Gina of the alleged “major issues.” Gina realizes that Nate is exaggerating immensely and showcases skepticism with a raised eyebrow. In panel 4, Gina shows a disappointed expression with lazy eyes. Nate intellectualizes Gina that the 3rd stall in the second floor boys’ bathroom is lacking a stall. Now before I jump into panel 1, I must first address panel 3. Panel 3 has a bookshelf with insinuates that this is in a the school library which would make sense for an after school activity, as most things like this take place in the school’s library. Although it is possible for it to be an elective, it is unlikely. Now for the big one; in panel 1, it showcases 3 posters. The first poster is difficult to see so I won’t explain that one, but the second one is almost fully shown. It’s pretty clear that it is one of the school papers, but you can’t see any of the words on it. The third one is a little bit hard to see but I speculate it says “Deadline all articles by 3:00!!!” But there is something interesting here though; 3 images on the school paper, 3 papers, 3 bolded letters on the headline, 3 bolded lines below the headlines, 3 exclamation marks on the third paper, and all of the articles are due by 3? Not only that but it’s stall number 3 that has no door??? This must mean something. Besides the obvious use of repetition, which is subtlety placed along the course of the strip, there must be something deeper…..

At first, I thought that Alex Carey was for certain a troll… But I’m starting to wonder if he’s actually serious about this. He can’t be, right?

Why does no one like Nate’s idea? It’s good that he’s informing the public about everything.
