Maybe some children grew up with authoritarian parents who were harsh in their thinking and refused to give their children leeway. When adults, these children, refused to treat their children in the same manner.
I would have regretted such behavior for a LONG, LONG time. On the other hand, I did encounter a few kids like that when I was young. They were called “spoiled brats”, and pointed out as bad examples. Their parents were looked down on and pitied for their poor parenting skills. And WE weren’t allowed to play with the brats, it might have been contagious! They had the best toys, too!

Why would some children be speaking to your parents today, in that sort of way? ☺
