    has the prior work (my comment there also points to the first 5 artist info URLs; the last has a bit about this work as well). I couldn’t find any speculation as to who Suzanne (pregnant in the painting) was. The artist married in 1873, and his wife may have been pregnant (his sculptress daughter Jean René was born 4/21/1881), when this was done; but, her name was Mette, not Suzanne. Perhaps the artist made up the name.
