When I visited my mother in Florida, she’d have a “honey do” list. Always, and I mean always, she’d “find” another list that she “misplaced.” Funny, each list was entirely different.
I have been doing the Lions share of the household chores our whole married life. After 41 years my wonderful, retired, hubby has taken on the majority of the chores. He says he’s glad to do it, because I’ve put in “enough time and effort”! We share some chores. We have downsized, to make living easier. Kudos to my hubby!
Some home maintenance tasks are annual, bi-annual, seasonal, monthly and more frequent. Spread them out over the year and you can eliminate those periodic heavier chore days. Like checking the batteries in your smoke and CO2 alarm/s on the days you change your clocks for Daylight and Standard time. Check/clean/replace air conditioner/heater filters those same days. (Arizona, Hawai’i and Saskatchewan will have to pick their own days for this) On Labour Day we check our pilot light and water heater (draining the water heater, checking it and refilling every year will extend the life by almost double) Spread the chores out. Don’t do more than two on any one day or three over any weekend. Use a calendar, especially one on your computer/phone. And have your kids help on the easier ones to train them to be responsible and build their confidence. It can be a good bonding exercise.

Then he says: “And after you’ve made my dinner, washed my dirty clothes and picked up after me, we can get down to some sweet loving.”

And what is she going to do? If women want to be treated as equals then they have to do the same stuff as the man.

Know all about those lists—my wife had been gone two years and I still haven’t reached the end of mine ! ! ! !

Smart guy would do the gutters first so he can wash the gunk from the gutters off of the windows afterwards.

I’m retired and my wife works full (double during tax season) time, so it’s reasonable for me to do much of the housework.
