I remember ice cube trays with metal levers. The only time ever even remotely getting hurt with one would be if you tried to use one from the deep-freezer. Using a tray from the refrigerator’s freezer wouldn’t hurt you, not nearly cold enough.
We had ice cube trays with metal levers when I was a kid. Then they came out with flexible plastic ones, and finally even I could get ice out of the tray.
Now I have an automatic icemaker and I’m never going back.

They do? I am two years older than dirt and I don’t remember being afraid of the ice cube tray. Methinks plugger submissions are getting thin…

Do you think he means the lever in the auto ice maker?

I can’t tell you how many times I pinched the &$@#! out of my hands trying to work those old metal ice cube trays. Dangerous things, they were!

I remember getting cut by those dang things - they must’ve been designed by a committee of evildoers!

I don’t remember getting cut or pinched, but do remember getting ice cubes all over the place.
