Oh, the ignominy! Cancelled for a corn dog of the wrong type. What’s the world coming to?

Cleo & Co. presents us with additional depth to this engrossing mystery. Could Linda Bleah have yanked the rug out from under ol’ GC? Where was the corn dog after the fall? What became of the corn dog? Is there such a thing as a religious corn dog? A sacrilgious corn dog? Or is any corn dog, ipso facto, sacriligious? If that was Linda’s true motivation, is she bat-shirt crazy?

What about her surveillance pickle? I can believe they exist, and it was probably served to him with the corn dog. The tech today can put surveillance gear in almost anything. But that would mean she was in on it even before he had the corn dog, meaning the assertion about her alleged motive was a red herring. The crime was premeditated.

You see, it all comes down to that corn dog. That is THE key piece of evidence Was it Linda Bleah in the kitchen with a corn dog? Just wait and see.

GoComics has decided that I may post tonight!

Or at least… so far so good….

as I climb aboard the Midnight Express, once again….

in the the DECEMBER 2ND 2020 “CLEO and COMPANY” on Sherpa…

and ride it through the next episode of…. this mystery train.

I noticed, first, that today’s episode has no number…. then I realised …. in an old fashioned mystery, on an old fashioned train….

there’s probably no Compartment 13… or Car 13…

perhaps… (gasp!) there’s no Episode 13!

Or at least, it shall remain unenumerated.

Now we have Grace (what a face!), practically confessing to the murder….

But listen to her…. and look at those eyes… is she really the one who dunnit?

Or has she just…. been …. um… eating too many crazypickles?

Riding too long on the train to Luluville?

I don’t eat corn dogs (a girl’s gotta draw the line somewhere. )

But I’ve see them, and I’ve smelled them… there was a corn dog purveyor in the mall… and there’s a HUGE corn dog booth at the County Fair…. with a dozen or so varieties.

NOT ONE of those varieties is labelled “sacrilegious!”

If Liverlips’ “Linda” is really Grace… I think we have similar doubts.`

She may have already slipped of the track a bit.

Last time we saw Grace….. (“the Face”), denizen of “Frog Applause”, and now… perhaps… suspected of murder (!!) on the Midnight Express….

some were speculating about her origins.

I commented there… but it was late in the day, and not many saw it… that I had saved the original photo of her years ago…

I couldn’t get to it, but I searched for, and posted, another copy.

Tonight, on my computer I’ve found the bigger, clearer, one I had saved, and I’ve got a little more info.

Sorry to repeat parts of this, for some of you…. but for anybody interested:

AFAIK, “Grace” is nobody famous…

She’s from an unidentified mid-nineteenth century photo of two children, presumably a sister and brother, by an unknown photographer.

I THINK I downloaded it from Teresa Burritt ’s Frog Blog, or I may have found it with Google Image Search, using her picture from “Frog Applause.”

In either case, I think the face is unmistakable.

It’s actually been used on other websites, as well…

I’ve seen it illustrating both a blog on farm life and an article about evil children!

I think some people think she looks evil only because of that determined blank stare…

but I’ve read that the original is a Daguerreotype.

The children would have had to hold their pose for a long time… which might indeed make them look very determined.

Anyhow… here she is….

Oh no!!!! I’ve been holding my breath since Monday, and there’s no end in sight! Egads! Whatever will we do until episode 14?!!! (Susan was right, NH couldn’t name this Episode 13 because it would be bad luck for somebody.)

Episode 13 wouldn’t bring bad luck to the victim ~~ he’s already had his. I’m beginning to think he killed himself. Too much pressure from Nighthawks and gang to put Cleo and Company on the main page.

I don’t think she did it. She’s just saying that she did it to get some publicity.
