If you look at a professional stunt training track diagram. there is a 12’ square by 6’ deep pit of giant foam chunks and the arrow pointing at it says “Stunt training here”.
Back in the summer of 1970 (maybe 1971? Not sure), my mother and I spent 6 weeks with her parents, and my brother stayed home with my dad. Dad had to work, so darling brother was home alone, or with his friends. Out in the country, with plenty of wide open spaces (if you ignore the horses, cows, peacocks, turkeys, etc.).
He decided to emulate Evel Knievel. He had his bike, my bike, dad’s bike, mom’s bike, and two others that he repaired enough to ride. He broke them ALL REPEATEDLY. By trying to jump over cars. Not just A car, cars PLURAL. Then he fixed them all and tried again. And again.
He didn’t break anything except the bikes! And he didn’t get into trouble because by the time our parents found out, he was on to other kinds of trouble.
And the moral of this story is: YES, THE TEENAGER WILL DO THAT.

How do you say “idiot” in Spanish?

I’ve been riding a two-wheel bike for 54 years, and I have never entertained the notion of trying what Baldo hoped to do.
