Like lLS, I too, have to rise early. At least I will get more sleep than him.
Just finished making my bed and. Can you imagine taking more than 45 minutes to make your bed?? Sheets and two untucked blankets. I used my inhalers before I started, too. That’s what COPD does to one. It freakin’ sucks!!
Yeah, I know what you mean, Shirttail Slim. I can’t even put on a fitted sheet with my asthma. I just mopped by small bathroom floor, which entailed taking the furniture out and I was breathing heavy - I figure that the excersize was good for me, though.
I want to thank all those who gave me encouragement and suggestions for my “Cartoon Symbols” project. One aspect I want to share is “The cartoons Come to Life.” For instance, I love when the charactors push the walls of the panel so they can try to escape.
Does anyone remember when Sally Forth and her husband were discussing the presidential elections the day after election day in 2008? Of course, the cartoonist couldn’t know the results so soon, so Sally and husband were talking anomolies about the results and finally admitted that their cartoonist had written the cartoon way ahead of time.
Good morning, everybody. Goodness, it’s December already. Where has 2010 gone? One tenth of the way through a century.
Arye - I also like it when Mutt and Jeff do something to remind us that are living in the cartoon universe. Sometimes, they’ll actually walk into the next panel. I remember Alley Oop actually visited with his cartoonist once.
You want an obscure movie? How about a movie within a movie.
Starring Don Lockwood, Lena LaMont and featuring the voice of Kathy Selden.
1927
Emergency remake of their first “talkie”.
Bonus points for the name of the real movie, and who played Don, Lena and Kathy.
ML, Forbidden Planet is also one of my favorite movies. I read a blog about Nielsen yesterday (which prompted the movie post) that said how bad both the movie and Nielsen’s performance were. I disagree. Sure, it’s a bit cheesy compared to today’s computerized special effects, but for the time it was state of the art. And who can ignore Robbie, the best robot on film? He even guest starred on “Lost in Space” on TV and in Spielburg’s “Gremlins”.
I saw this movie in 1959, in a small town called “Willits” in Northern California. At the end, when the lights came up, I pretended to be asleep in my seat. I didn’t want any of the guys I knew seeing me crying. I was so choked up, it was all I could do not to sob out loud.
Ingrid Bergman….. Robert Donat (last film)…..Curt Jurgens
This old man, he played……. A. Really. Long. March!
To give you some idea of the “VideoHound’s Golden Retriever” and how many movies it contains in it’e ratings?
If I were to post up one movie from each page once daily. I could post for four-and- a- half years. If a movie is not listed, but you know who was in it, you can cross-reference their names and get the name of the movie.
But I can not find Leslie Neison in the cast section. He’s listed in the movies as being part of the cast, but in the actor (cast) and their movies, he’s not there??? The book even mentions that “Airplane” renewed his career from small serious type films to comedy>
I know. Why bother with a book when you can just google it? It is more than just a book, it is a source!
Ok, I’ll admit I had to look this one up, but only because my best resource isn’t home from work yet. I’m a pretty good guesser, but this one I hadn’t seen in a lot of years.

Good morning all.
I like the way McEldowney’s cat will walk from one panel to the next, or even behind the panels.
Miss ya leaky, go carefully.
And to all have a good advent.
