From yesterday: ML - right on the movie, but what is the name of the movie they were working on within it? That was my original question. And yes, it was great meeting you and your mountain man. I’m only sorry we were both in such a hurry and didn’t have more time to spend together.

Sweetbill - the avatar is James Garner as Brett Maverick from the old TV show “Maverick”. He and his brother Bart (Jack Kelly) were gamblers in the old west. Late 50’s I think. It was one of my Mom’s favorite shows at the time - we were NOT allowed to interrupt her when it was on.

The Inn of the Sixth Happiness. 1958

Based on the story of Gladys Aylward, a missionary in China in the 1930s, who led a group of children through the war-torn countryside, to safety..

Good morning Village. I’m just not good at naming those old films. Haven’t got one yet. But I’ll keep trying.

Jan…..it was the “Dueling Cavalier” that they were working on, and then it became the “Dancing Cavalier” when they remade it to a talkie. Boy……I gotta read the fine print. Ho Ho.

It “starred” Gene Kelley, Jean Hagan, and Debbie Reynolds.

    good morning, Villagers.

Slim…..never saw Inn of the Sixth Happiness, sorry

We’re supposed to get some more snow today. Everything is so pretty, but cold. Wasn’t that much warmer in SoCal……in the 50’s during the day and 30’s at night!

    Hi all you good villegers.

Montanalady: Glad you and your MountainMan have made it home in one peace.

I’ll through out a movie come Sat. when I can monitor the answers better. (ratesya know)

I ain’t got no idea about ether movie question. I’ll look around.

Lost all our snow yesterday to 50deg. temp., got it back this morning.

The stud tires are on, I think I’m ready for the “season of rest from active toil.” (if you work on a vegetable farm)

Oh well, that’ll go over like a lead ballon. \\//_

ML, right on all counts. (You already got the extra points for “Singing in the Rain”) It’s one of my favorite movies as well, although that final dance number about the hick dancer in the city isn’t to my taste. It’s great on fast forward, though. Funny thing was, I had to play the start of the movie yesterday morning because I couldn’t remember Don Lockwood’s last name.
