    Good morning, my friends!

I was going to comment on that, LS. I noticed on weather.com that there was a hard freeze warning down your way…. But then you like cold….. Or is there a line below which the liking diminishes?

GM everyone @ MontanaLady, this mornings newpaper had an article about Ted Kaczynski’s (unabomber) land for sale in Lincoln, Mont. 1.4 acres with chain link fence topped with barb wire for $69,500. No cabin, that’s which is on display in the newseum in Wash. D.C. I don’t know why they would do that to a person who killed 3 people and injured 23?He’s still in maximun security in a Colorado prison.

It got up to 20 degrees today. This Arctic Blast is something else, huh? Family in Raleigh had snow 2 days ago!!! This is sure an early winter!

Started my Christmas baking today. Pumpkin bread for the neighbors. The house smelled so good, and it helped heat the place, too.

Tomorrow = Banana Nut Bread. Yum!

How about this one? Bing Crosby, Louis Armstrong, Grace Kelly 1956 remake of Cary Grant/Katherine Hepburn/Jimmy Stewart classic (and having watched both on the same day once, except for the music, they didn’t change much. Most of the dialog was word for word)

    High Society, I believe?

Interesting about the remake. Maybe they cannibalized the original script?

Slim, when they remade Philadelphia Story, they really did cannibalize the script. it’s the same story with the same characters (with a few exceptions - lost Tracy’s brother and added Louie Armstrong). They also added the whole musical thing to it - instead of being a reformed ne’er-do-well, Dex is a successful songwriter. Of course being Crosby and Armstrong, there HAS to be music, right? Now that I really think about it, a lot of the secondary stuff got changed to suit the different actors. The major scenes, however are unchanged, especially Seth’s lecture to his daughter. Word-for-word. My favorite part: Crosby and Frank Sinatra’s duet “What a Swell Party”.

JanCin….. Those are called ear worms. I get them all the time, and some times they persist for days. Popping into my head without warning, and sometimes I don’t even like the melody!!

    Morning Vagabonds.

30 deg here in SE Texas.

I knew it was Cat Balou but Jan got here before I did. Probably one of Lee Marvin’s best roles. I saw that one back when I was in high school.

    Morning all.

dkram….. I know about mental rebooting. Sometime I feel like one of those old one-cylinder John Deere tractors, We called them Johnny-poppers. They had a small gas engine that was used to warm up the deisel engine before it could be started, on cold mornings. I need to get a cup pf hot coffee or tea into me before I can function properly. :-))

    Banana Nut Bread

1/4 cup buttermilk 1/3 cup unsalted butter 1 large egg 1 tsp vanilla extract 1 cup mashed bananas (about 2 1/2) 1 tsp salt 2/3 cup granulated sugar 1 1/3 cups all purpose flour 3/4 tsp baking soda 1/2 tsp baking powder 1/2 cup chopped walnuts or pecans

This is for my bread machine……put everything into form as listed. Use quick bread/cake setting. Machine does the work.

I guess you can make this the old fashioned way, mixing the butter and sugar and b’milk and egg then adding the dry ingredients. Bake for about 30 minutes at 350. Not exactly sure.

Either way, I’ve been doing this for years, and it’s terrific!!

don’t know how I missed the NAME THAT MOVIE that Slim mentioned (Cat Balou). That is really a long time favorite. Also good music in this and High Society. Love that song “True Love” It was really Grace Kelly singing it, too.
