    Good morning, Vagabonders,

We are FINALLY finished with flying! We arrived here a bit ago, and decided to spend the night in a local hotel before heading up our hill. The valley here got only 6 to 8 inches of snow today, but that means our place might be a lot worse. I’d rather have My Mountain Man shovel our driveway in the daylight hours, unless our Guardian Angel has already done it. But, we also don’t want to shovel the car out of the airport parking lot at night either.

    Anyway, we’re just about home!!!

Slim…….LOVED your last edition yesterday!!!! Just one more time!!!! It seems that we are doing that a little bit, too. Thanks for sharing.

Oooo, I’m only an hour behind today, despite getting up really late.

Stay tuned for more. Some philislopical (not a typo) one-liners, personal observations and theories, and of course, adventures both exciting and dangerous!, as well as blase, Life. The Life of Floyd aka Shirttail Slim.

Experience is an excellent teacher, but not everyone gets a passing grade.

I’ve written two paeans to motherhood. Both are on the CD, and I hope, will bring a smile to your face. This one is simply called “Mothers”.

    ……….MOTHERS……….

While stolling through the woods one day, I chanced to nfind there in my way, I found a little bear who had gone astray, And mama blamed it all on me. I protested, to no avail. Then turned and ran down the trail To take refuge in a tree. Mothers have always been the same I guessed, When ever her baby leaves the nest, The passing stranger is the guilty pest Who’s lured junior from her knee. So I sat on my limb and philosophized, And wondered at mama’s wonderful sizze, Till at last she collected her delinquent, And still grumbling, left to set me free.

Ah, Mothers. Where would we be without them? Well, one might say we simply wouldn’t be, period?
