Yippy skippy! Dad's car is covered in snow! No school for sure! Dumb white car of dad's. Maybe you should be fully awake the next time you look out your bedroom window.
Here in Southeast Virginia (where we have little in the way of snow-removal equipment) I’ve seen school cancelled due to the THREAT of snow. This includes times when said threat resulted in no snow.

Grew up and went to school in Wisconsin. Not one snow day, although at UW a prof missed a day.

In Danville IL my niece used to get cold days instead of snow days.

In Texas we don’t get snow days, the ocasional hurricane day, but not snow
