what to do, when you’re panicking, and I don’t know what “thing” you “hit” (Clicked? Typed? Touched?) when you got a “thingy” that said you needed to use the other “thing”…
or where you can find the thing to do the thing you think we talked about one time, but you don’t remember when.
When I was about five, my parents had a conversation similar to this, and my mum told me I jumped up and down and asked, “What’d he say? What’d he say?” Now, Hubby and I do it to our grandkids.
This is so like me. My mind usually races ahead and leaves my mouth several sentences behind when the mouth realizes it can’t recall the word for that thing, you know, and notifies the brain which causes the whole train of thought to derail. Not pretty.

I reckon it passed onto their male child. What do you call one’s male child again?

I’m not sure where the “what now” is, but I’m asked about the “thing” all the time….
I used to do computer tutoring…. and I still try to help a few people…
I’ve told a couple of them a few times… it’s really easier if you at least try to use a few descriptive words…
Simple ones: window, key, button, mouse, dialog box…
but they can’t, or won’t….
and it’s difficult to tell you over the phone,
what to do, when you’re panicking, and I don’t know what “thing” you “hit” (Clicked? Typed? Touched?) when you got a “thingy” that said you needed to use the other “thing”…
or where you can find the thing to do the thing you think we talked about one time, but you don’t remember when.
Sigh…..
