(headscratches) Didn’t we see this strip before?

I thought for a minute that I saw Ginger on that phone. Might have been wrong.

For the first time I will say something completely positive about this strip. And that is that even though I didn’t find the gag all that good, I totally love the balloons where the writing is literally bleeding out of them. I don’t think I have ever seen that done in any comic strip before, and ergo I give points for the creativity of the idea. In terms of its originality, this is reminiscent of the trumpet sounds used to express adult voices in Peanuts. The premise and “energy” of what is going on as Nancy prattles on is so clearly communicated here and I think we can all recall situations where we were in the exact same position Sluggo is in here. Very creative; very original; very well done.

Normally people do this to me (I have long and weird interests) but I’ve done this to people as well

In the last 3 panels Sluggo looks like a real estate agent or door to door salesman. Maybe even somebody running fo office

I always dread the “How about yours?” part of these conversations.
