    Then you’re afraid to use it, because you don’t want to run the risk of chipping or scratching it. And who’s going to get the benefit of that investment? Usually your heirs who have to sell it to recoup any of the money. After my husband’s grandparents and both of my parents die, we found things that were still in the boxes and in mint condition. It is sad that they didn’t enjoy what they had, or sell it themselves to get the money out of it while they could, to use it for something they would enjoy. It is just “stuff”, people! Love people, use things - not the other way around.

    Maybe cuz they’ve been plugging away for so long… They could sell what they have on eBay except that there’s no doubt a sentimental attachment.
