When you’re not the patient, it’s easy to get distracted. It would be nice if it were the other way around. Fortunately for me, I almost never thought about treatment day until the very day. Somehow for me it was like it was all happening to someone else….until the day I had to be there.

Think of something else while you sit. Get a cup of coffee or a drink of water to sip. Trust you, oncologist, to do the best and easiest way for you. Course my cancer (CLL) is a long-term cancer and treatment doesn’t touch it, but I’m with you in thought.

I waited about four hours for my appointment on Monday. Three and a half of them were after the scheduled time. I learned one thing for sure. The people who make or buy waiting room chairs are SADISTS.

My radiation was scheduled at 8:25 am. I was in and out of there, never had to wait. I would do my radiation and go to work. Just roll with it.
