A miracle has occurred. Connie Poirier’s hair is coloured the way it is supposed to be coloured. It has been years since we have seen her with the correct hair colour.

Don’t use pliers, use a halved potato. Turn off the breaker, jam the cut side of the potato down to the bulb base, and twist it out.

How small is the Pattersons’ house that the whole thing is lit by one light fixture? Or, is Elly such a bad housekeeper that she only had time to clean the entryway and would only let the guests enter her home that far?

Durn light bulbs are always uncooperative.

It is good that Elly is inviting neighbors over for cards. She needs some time with friends. Considering all the yelling and screaming she did this week, Elly’s blood pressure must be through the roof.

A little trivia for you. This comic strip was originally published in August, and the comic strip for today was for Elly’s birthday which Lynn Johnston originally set to be the same as her own on May 28. Eventually, Lynn decided that Elly’s birthday was August 26, and so she has switched the comics in order to make the reprinting more chronologically accurate.
