I kept saying we needed a freezer and my wife kept asking what would we put in it. I could never convince her to get one so I went and bought one anyway. A month later she had it full of vegetables. So much for her wondering what we would put in it.
A hurricane (Frederick) cured me of wanting a chest freezer when the power was off for days and we had to load my dad’s freezer(s!) into trucks to take them miles away to where there was power.
Does that mean that you can’t be classified as a ‘Plugger’ if you don’t have a basement or a chest type freezer ??? If so, I object !There shouldn’t be conditions to be a ‘Plugger’ other than age and life style ! ! ! ! ! !
We live in a small apt., but got a 5 cubic foot freezer and squeezed it into the kitchen, next to our 35+ year old microwave (which is still working like a champ). Best use of space EVER! We are planning on putting in a walk-in freezer when we build our new home.
My family has never been large. I came from a family of four and had only one child. So how I learned to cook as if I were feeding a battalion is beyond me. Now that it’s just us two, and my appetite is past middle-age, I’ve had to become really creative with left-over recipes.
