I’m ashamed to say that re-reading this just now with a gap of some years since I made it, I laughed out loud at one of the newspaper headlines.

Man, really, microfilm? I mean, sure, it’s not extinct just yet, but Lottie’s right—most people are digitizing even that these because it’s easier to preserve that way.

Also, “Gary the Horse” sounded like he led a, shall we say, interesting life.

“Harry the Horse” was a tough-guy gambler in “Guys and Dolls”. (Sheldon Leonard played him in the movie.) Gary sounds less intimidating. I wonder how long it took Chief Torrence to solve the case?

But if the boys’ going back in history caused the crash, then the boys’ going back in history must always have been what caused the crash. (If there was no crash in the original timeline, then what has Grumpaw been sending Calvin back in history to change, every day for who know how long now?) If this time something happened “different” that changed the timeline, maybe they wound up somehow preventing the crash (but the microfilm records just haven’t changed yet but soon will)?
