I can really relate to shauna so much a couple of months ago I had a dream where I meet the most beautiful women and she acted like Lottie made me even love her more, she was everything I wanted in a girl.Even had two children, it was really the happiest moment of my entire life. The last thing I remembered was when I was at my parents house with my family having fajitas, my father was playing with my children and my wife was talking with my mom and then at that moment I woke up..I was so confused on what happened and then realized it was all a dream. I wanted to scream and cry so hard but couldn’t because I would wake up the other recruites. Once it was time to wake up ( I woke up around 2am and never went back to sleep I was to busy crying) at 5:30. When the Sargent walked past me he released how red my eyes are and just told him I was just home sick. I still wanted to cry more knowing the people I loved so much never existed… I was very depressed the whole time until I graduated from the navy. To this day I think about that dream. Thank you for reading.

I hope before Shauna completely forgets about Keith, she gets to read the story “The Nearness of You” from Kurt Busiek and Brent Anderson’s Astro City comic book. In fact, maybe I’m going to re-read it now, just for myself.

For those of you who have no idea what the previous post was about: “The Nearness of You” is a story about a man who dreams about the same woman every night, even though she is someone he’s never met. It turns out that the timeline he’s in had been changed, and this dream woman had in fact been his wife in the original timeline, but in this changed timeline she never existed at all. The entity who explains all that to the man with the dreams says he can’t restore the timeline, but he can at least make him stop dreaming about her. His decision, and the entity’s comment on the final page, make this one of the great comic-book romance tales.

My granddaughter is very upset by Shauna’s plight, hearts are very tender at their age.
