Which is why you keep losing it and calling to Honeybunch to find it for you. I’d tell him if you refuse to put it in the drawer where you’ll always be able to find it, don’t bother me when you lose it – again.
How do people determine “Where things belong?” I’ve had this dispute with a friend that does housecleaning. She rearranges dishes and glasses in cabinets. Usually she puts plates in the cabinet to the right of the sink and glasses in the cabinet to the left. When she visits me, she often tries to move my stuff around until I tell her to leave things where they are. I keep my plates and glasses in the same cabinet, glasses on the bottom shelf, glasses on the top, as that’s convenient for me.
Remotes go on the coffee table or end tables where they are convenient. Who wants to go to a drawer every 30 minutes or when the volume needs adjusting. Having said that, it is worthwhile setting up those “universal” features on the remotes so that common functions work from any one.
Before my long story to follow, they have an app for that. Just turn your smart phone into a remote. At least when you lose it you can give it a call.
They need to make remotes with a calling feature, if you lose it call it.
My wife was complaining one day about my not putting a dish in the sink. That progressed to always picking up after me, etc… . I told her, “You have been picking up after me for 20 years, and if you play your cards right, you will be picking up after me another 20 or 30 years.” Fortunately for me she decided to play her cards right and considered she didn’t have it so bad after all.

“Where it belongs” would be in the freezer. Helps the batteries last longer.

I’ve never heard of a remote drawer. I leave mine on the coffee table.

We have a little table that has the remotes, a keyboard and a mouse on it. The “TV” is used as a computer monitor.

I had a colonoscopy and an upper endoscopy on the same day last year. Actually, at the same time.
