Per an old Treasure Chest comic book, to make a nest in the grass back when they were wolves. Horses lift their fronts first to look over the tall grass for predators; cows rear first to look under the trees for same.
I sure as all tarhooties do NOT want Al Gore’s rhythm! Or anything else of his. :>)
It’s nesting …. our Yorkie builds a nest every night and it always makes me happy
