@Hobs94: Um, I don’t know…what comic do you want to be in? You are in Big Nate. If you’re looking for Calvin and Hobbes, it’s a little further down the list in the C section. If you’re just being funny, welcome!
Prediction time. Wednesday’ comic: first two panels, Nate is overthinking it, last panel the ball whizzes by, strike one.Thursday’s comic, first two panels, Nate is overthinking it, last panel the ball whizzes by, strike two. Friday’s comic, first panel, Nate is overthinking it, second panel he realizes it, last panel he hits it out of the park.
Actually, statistically, the odds of getting a string of non hits decreases with each miss (thus his odds of getting a hit increase.) Getting 10 misses in a row is 1:1024 vs 2 misses in a row at 1:4 (if he has a batting average of 0.5 [evenly hitting or missing]) Increase this to 15 misses and it is 1:32768 , with a lower batting average, those numbers would reduce but the principal is the same.

I don’t mind Nate getting a break this time. But, he’ll be insufferable for another whole arc if he does!

If he does get a hit and happens to win the game, Nate will be insufferable.

At this point Francis is most likely to get a hit, from a bat.

Or then there’s Han’s line “Never tell me the odds.”
