Talking about it will just get Zack bullied even more once brought up to the teacher and principal.

Back in the late sixties when I was in high school, the biggest bully was the principal. The second you did something that he could pick on you for….you were dead meat.

Back in the late 60’s we had a high school principal who was a great guy. He worked with the students and helped them when they thought they had an unjust situation. He was willing to be a witness in court when a local cop abused a students rights and when some young kids found a bag of drugs hidden on the school property and turned it in to him and showed him where it was found, he turned it over to the proper authorities and refused to let them bully the kids who found it when the local cops thought they might have really been responsible for it in the first place. Brian Callahan was a terrific principal and all around nice guy.

In elementary school, the attitudes of adults toward bullying was very much “fight your own battles”. Going to the parents of the bullies or to the adults in charge had little effect, other than getting me branded a crybaby. By high school I had started hitting the gym every day, worked out with the wrestling team, and befriended a couple boxers who showed me some things. I didn’t face much bullying in high school. But the few bullies from my younger days who did try to carry on – after not seeing me for a few years – I made sure they paid for it. They wanted me to fight my own battles, after all…
