Ugly Crystal seems to get less and less uglier, even cuter. Soon she and Moon Kid will be equals in the looks department. It could be that Mr. Bribery’s hideousness was catching, but now that Crystal’s been removed from his toxic presence….
Starting to see all the players in this arc. The contract killer, his target. Bribery, the client. With Crystal, and, Honeymoon as extra pieces getting in the way, and, thus bringing in Tray, the Moon Gov, and, Diet Smith.
Crystal needs some positive reinforcement which Honey Moon will undoubtably provide. All her life she has been called ugly when in reality she appears to be quite pretty, but even if she weren’t, she still appears to be a kind and decent person, in spite of her family origins. Believe Honey will unmask (unhair?) her and reveal her true prettiness.
“Ugly” Crystal and Honeymoon are becoming as bonded as if they were sisters. And, surely, Crystal needs a “real family” to get her out of that shelter. I’m not sure, though, who is in the best position to adopt or at least foster her. Both Junior and Dick Tracy are already pretty busy. Diet Smith? He has the means, but he may not have familial inclinations. Moon Gov? He’s not of legal status, AFAIK. But whoever it may turn out to be, simply that Crystal has raised the issue suggests that the story is headed in that direction. (And if Diet were the man, that would help tie some of the plot-threads together….)

Good morning™, shelter dwellers!
With family like Mr. Bribery, you don’t need enemies.

Good morning™, Toe Paint talkers !
Kid definitely needs a real home environment and as far away from Uncle B. as his sentencing can get him to.

To bad the places where children are warehoused till they are 17 have a hard time putting them in decent foster families.

Getting ready for the big reveal. Betting Crystal isn’t ugly at all. Kind of wonder why she always has her collar up so high, though.

Her own uncle called her “ugly.” What a way to destroy your niece’s self-esteem.
