I’ve learned LONG ago that one should never read this comic while drinking anything. I swear if I’d been drinking water, it would have shot out of my nose at the final three panels. :) LOL!

Phoebe’s Unique Ornness is starting to show. For a real pageant she needs another dress, and probably some peeptoes.

I love Phoebe declaring herself the winner. I take it that Unicorn egos are very sensitive and can’t take losing to even to another Unicorn.

She did a similar thing while singing in a hillside meadow, with Phoebe present. I suspect (although she would be loathe to admit it) that she prefers having an audience, even of one, to posing and singing alone, and declaring herself the winner (although a mirror—or an echo-producing landscape—might come close to Phoebe’s admiration).

Phoebe declaring herself the winner, because it is in keeping with unicorn character (except for Lord Splendid Humility’s), could be why Marigold said, “I am both highly incensed, and proud of you.” It fits in perfectly with Phoebe’s gradual path toward unicornhood.
