In elementary school when rain kept us inside for recess, we repeatedly watched this Czech animation, “The Caterpillar”:

I was amazed and delighted to find it on YouTube, even in its not-so-great quality. Also that I remembered the main theme so well (shades of Proust’s madeleine). Read the YouTube comments— I am not the only one.
Back in the 70’s when one of my friend’s college classes was on Science Fiction, the teacher allowed me to “audit” the class on film nights, allowing me to see some excellent Sci Fi movies for the first time, like “The Day the Earth Stood Still” and “Five Million Years to Earth”…
I must admire Sedgwick’s Academy. By all the IMDB accounts, Marketa Lazarova is indeed a great movie, and I am left wishing I could sit in with Sedgie’s class for the viewing! (And how did Jim Meddick happen to know about this hard-to-find film?)
