I wonder how much space in landfills is being occupied by all those single-purpose clocks that only counted down to the last second before midnight on 1999 December 31.
I have a countdown clock app on my iPad to the end of trumps reign of terror. That’s assuming of course if the forces of evil don’t steal the election for a Second term and assuming he doesn’t leave office early
Sedgwick’s clock is a bit more sophisticated than the old short-timers’ calendars I remember from the service. Starting the set number of days before your discharge, you filled in the appropriately numbered space on the calendar. On the day you got out, you had a finished picture, usually mildly obscene.
I had a countdown calendar when I was in the Army. The number of days until my enlistment was over. i started at 800 and something days. It was a long wait.

Pointless. You will be in class or with a private tutor at that point. Not in bed.

No surprise there, but I thought school was over and the clock was for counting down summer vacation.

I had a variation of that on my office computer which counted down the days to retirement…

Just a passing fancy.
Once school’s out, Sedgie can replace it with a Star Wars poster, or whatever little rich kids like these days. Maybe a pin-up of a Ferrari?
