When I was a young puppy, I worked at Data General and did quality assurance (QA) work on their operating systems. We would spend 6-8 months QAing it and find 600 bugs if the OS had a bad QA cycle — and we always found more bugs than our customers. A year or two later Microsoft was readying XP to be released and bragged that they were finding 50,000 bugs per week. I was horrified.
At one time MS and IBM were on a joint path to make OS2 the dominant OS. But MS split off and let Windows evolve, while OS2 went on to be a hardened & reliable OS for banking, reservations systems and other real-time applications. But the mainstream trusted MS, unfortunately.

With some of their “improvements”, I think they’re trying to make the users crash

“…wait for it to crash”. should be any second now…

Speaking of “improvements”, is GoComics at it again?

Windows for Dummies…?

Sadly, the crash dummy will not have a “Near Death Experience” with white light. It will instead succumb to the “Blue Screen of Death”.

I’m sure that’s pretty much how they do it.
Gent over 6 years ago
Ah, they’ve got that infamous blue screen right at the start up now. And with a logo too. How nice.

If many of the people had their way, we would still be at Windows 7.

Are they using the word or the acronym? Or maybe the scary clown book/miniseries/film…

If the computer crashes in your office or home, and there is no one there, will it make a noise? No, but you will later.

Chortle. I’ve used Mepis/MX Linux for over 10 years now. My daughter’s laptop uses Windows 10, which is an adventure in headaches all it’s own…

There will not be a Windows 15. Microsoft will now add what are called feature updates to Windows.
